[23 June 2011] Pretty boy JKS arrives in Taiwan, Fans in wedding gown want to “marry” him
Korean star Jang Keun Suk who rose to popularity throughout Asia based on drama “You are Beautiful” arrived in Taiwan today at 12 noon via flight KE 691. More than 300 fans crowded at Taoyuan Airport to welcome him, filling the air with their screams and even needing police security to maintain orderliness. Of special mention is that there were around 20 fans who were dressed in wedding gown and shouted that they want to marry JKS.
Today 4 pm at Grand Formosa Regent Taipei where JKS is staying at, a press conference will be held.
On 24 June at 7.30 pm and 25 June at 7 pm, JKS will meet fans at Taipei University Auditorium.

From “umemployment”, JKS learns that “life is about choice”.
In the previous issue, we shared about JKS’ debut as a model at the age of 6 and with the support of his beloved mother and family, he started his artiste life as a child actor. However, in the process of struggle till his success today as the “Hallyu Prince” in everyone’s heart, the process is far from smooth. JKS has experienced difficult circumstances from the age of 15 when he could not get any work, but also because of that tough period, JKS has gained much experience which paved the way for his future glory.
“What is important is not the performance itself, but how one accepts challenges.” His drama became the topic of much discussion and his debut single achieved the honour of topping the Oricon chart. Despite these results, as the “Number 1 Hallyu Prince”, JKS still has very strict expectations of himself.
In a recent interview, JKS has said that “I always work hard not to let my surroundings become one that revolves only around a domineering me, because in such an environment, I will gradually destroy myself and fall apart mentally.”
When JKS was studying in New Zealand for half a year and after that acting in “Nonstop 4” (2003 – 2004), he had fallen into such a situation. At that time, this drama series was proclaimed to be a cradle for newcomers and had indeed made many young artistes famous. In stark contrast, JKS had not gained much popularity after acting in it.

JKS has started a chain of events in the Greater China region. Following Singapore and Hong Kong, he’s coming to Taiwan for the 3rd time in June. Eels, don’t miss any chance of meeting him!
Every time JKS comes to Taiwan, it will definitely result in a mad rush for tickets. On 7 March 2010, after JKS shot to fame based on “You are Beautiful”, he had his first fan-meeting at Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. 3,000 tickets were sold out quickly; even JKS’ parents who were with him did not have seats, evidence of how hard it was to get a ticket. On 2 Oct of the same year, JKS and Park Shin-hye had their fan-meeting at Taipei University Stadium, 4,000 tickets were sold out quickly. JKS and PSH sang a Chinese duet “You’ll marry me tomorrow”, an unforgettable memory for fans.
In 2011, JKS is coming to Taiwan for the 3rd time, and also at the stage of Taipei University Stadium. Compared to the previous 2 times where JKS met fans as an actor, this time JKS will bring everyone a different musical experience with his fresh new image as a solo singer! And on the 1st day of ticket sales on 21 May for his “2011 Jang Keun Suk The Cri Show in Taipei”, tickets were sold out in as short as 43 minutes. After many fans feedbacked their unhappiness about not managing to buy tickets, the organizers worked hard to negotiate an additional show on 24 June, hoping to satisfy all fans. JKS truly has earned his title of being “Asia’s Most Popular Korean Male Artiste”, he is definitely the Popularity King of the new Hallyu generation!

After attending the Singapore fan meeting and then subsequently reading all the FANtastic fan accounts on HK and BKK I’ve been very, very, very tempted to follow on the MY, TW and SH fan meetings. Alas, with family on hand one simply couldn’t drop everything and hit the roads on impulse!
As a result, I could only do the next best thing, go to BKK (at a time accomodating the family, ie not while Keun Suk was in town), visit the autograph signing and photo-taking venue and buy up all the JKS ole candies! The autograph and photo-taking venue is great, air-conditioned with huge tv monitors – definately better then Marina Sq in Singapore. I was visualizing how it looked while Keun Suk was there, based on the wonderful pictures of the event taken by Aphrael and team. When I read Aphrael”s 27 May autograph and photo-taking report, I already told myself that I MUST get hold of all those merchandise photographed on the hotel bed!!!! So I scoured all the supermarkets and 711 to find the candies while in BKK. Keun Suk’s ole candies are really selling well because there were NONE left on the shelves.
Finally on the last day of departure, they replenished stocks! Here, there and everywhere, I managed to acquire ALL and complete sets of the multiple versions/packaging JKS candies including 4 heart shaped tins, winky eyes and sweets. Happiness and glee!
Should any of you out there who are going through the same feelings as me and would be comforted having something with JKS’s adorable, happy and handsome face on it plus him being actively involved with, leave a message here with your email address and I will get in touch with you.
